October is a big month for us on the conference circuit. We will be at ICSC Southeast in Atlanta, CREtech in New York, and IEDC Annual in New Orleans, all within the same two-week stretch. If you are heading to any of them, find us there (details below).
This issue features our latest piece on a problem most site selection teams have run into: two sources showing different information for the same property, with no obvious way to know which one to trust. The answer is more practical than it sounds, and the full article walks through exactly how to think about it.
As always, thanks for reading.
The Data Point
When Property Data Sources Disagree, What Should a Site Selector Trust?

It happens on most deals: a listing portal shows one square footage, the broker's flyer shows another, and two different sites still have the property available after another tenant has already signed the LOI. Someone has to pick up the phone and figure out which version is right.
The bigger problem has already happened before anyone picked up the phone. A QSR team screens a pad site out of consideration because the portal shows 0.8 acres, below their minimum for drive-thru stacking. The broker's flyer puts it at 1.1 acres, but the analyst never opens that flyer. The site never comes back up for consideration, and the team may never know they passed on a viable location.
About 67% of site selectors surveyed in the Site Selectors Guild's 2026 Pulse Check said they had compromised on product, regulatory, or incentive requirements to guarantee speed to market. Teams moving that fast are not circling back to double-check any figures.
The record to trust is the verified one: the version closest to its primary source, most recently confirmed. A data point becomes usable when your team can say where it came from and when it was last checked. Without those two answers, the record does not move a site forward. It moves the deal backward.

Kirksville Regional Economic Development Inc. (K-REDI): Doing More with Less

Rural economic development organizations carry wide mandates on lean staffing. Finding and maintaining accurate, accessible commercial inventory across a market, while also managing business attraction, retention, grant reporting, and everything else on the list, leaves little room for the manual work that accurate listing data normally requires. K-REDI found a way around that.
Resimplifi works with rural and regional economic development organizations across the country, giving them a way to present complete, verified inventory to site selectors without adding to an already stretched workload.
"Team Resimplifi has been amazing to work with! And the platform has saved me so much time and energy. I don't have to chase listings, all of the available commercial properties are right there, populated on LOIS, so site selectors can see my inventory. Definitely worth the cost!"
